The window
Cloud cover moves faster than itineraries in Icelandic autumn.
A dark-sky forecast app matters more than a fast camera on an Iceland autumn trip. The lights favour open sky, not the most famous car park. Leave one evening flexible so you can drive toward the clearer sector.
Practical
Decide the night plan after dinner with a fresh cloud map, then move only as far as the roads and your energy allow.
Honest limit
Aurora strength and cloud forecasts are live tools. Treat them as guides for the hour, not a guarantee for the week.
